Just to let you know, the wraith of the woods letterbox in Austin, Tx is
no longer there. is there any way to remove the wraith from the
website? There is a new letterbox in Austin that has not showed up yet
on the site, or at least not on the Map portion. You can find the clues
to this box under the "Whats new" page. It is called box of ants and is
probably getting very lonely since nobody has found it yet! -Ants1

Webmasters,
Please do NOT remove my clue from the website!
Matthew,
Are you sure you are looking in the right location?
There is more than one, and closer examination of the site might prove to
be a better course than asking someone other than the box hider to have the
clue removed.
Glad to see that l'boxing is finally picking up in Austin.
Have you found the 'gordian knot' letterbox yet?

Any chance you could add clues for us letterboxers with no GPS? I
have no idea where to start for either your Wraith or Gordian Knot
boxes and would like to look for them next time I'm in the area.
Also looking forward to going after your Mystery Box after you
replant it. I did not find it back in late December, though I'm
pretty sure I went to the right place.
Looks like you were one of the first letterboxers in Texas. Sorry it
took so long for the rest of us to find out about this hobby and help
plant boxes. Baby Bear and I are trying to make up for lost time.
Thanks,

I can't really change the clues much, but I can make a suggestion -
You don't really need a GPS to find these boxes (or most geocaches
for that matter). Both clues use coordinates to get you to the
general area where you begin but not(knot) the location of the boxes
themselves. Using the cordinates and some standard USGS 7.5 minute
quadrangle maps you should be able to get close enough to the
starting points. You'll need to convert the coordinates from WGS84 to
NAD27 to use the maps. Several online converters are available. I use
the one at jeep.com. You can get USGS maps online from several
locations also. These sites will generate a map around a set of
coordinates you input so you can save yourself the hassle of figuring
out which maps to buy that way. Locally, you can buy the print
versions at Miller Blueprint Company on 6th Street.

It was probably already gone at that time. I've put a note on the
clue page letting people know it is gone until I can replace it,
probably no earlier than September.

Sorry! I should have contacted you first for sure.... the reason I assumed it
was gone is because I followed a link to make a virtual log on the geocaching
website and it said this box had been archived, plus I had talked to other
letterboxers who also thought it was gone.... if it is there I will go and
search again!

There is one of the online map programs (possibly Mapquest) that will locate
a coordinate on their map if you enter it. That would likely get you close
enough to figure out the location.
